Mason County 60, Ashland Blazer 57 (BOYS)
The Royals snapped a three-game losing streak with a 60-57 win over Ashland Blazer on Saturday.
A free throw from Carson Brammer tied the game, 57-57, with 24 second remaining and one from Jaylen Lofton gave Mason County a lead they wouldn’t give up as they improved to 10-12.
Jeremiah Jones led the Royals with 19 points, Xylon Frey had 17 and Lofton had 10. Mason County is scheduled to travel to Highlands on Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. game.
Ashland falls to 10-11 and will host Spring Valley (WV) on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
Bracken County 64, Pendleton County 61 (BOYS)
The Polar Bears made it back-to-back wins with a 64-61 homecoming victory over Pendleton County on Saturday, 64-61, after rallying from an 11-point halftime deficit.
Bracken County was led by Tad Fisher with 27 points and 12 rebounds, including six offensive rebounds in the third quarter as the Polar Bears outscored the Wildcats, 19-7, in the frame.
Bracken County improves to 11-13 and will travel to Fleming County on Thursday for a 7:30 p.m. game.
Tredyn Thomas led Pendleton County with 17 points, Cody Sullivan had 16 and Brett Booth and Clay Monroe each added 11. The Wildcats fall to 10-13 and are scheduled to host Campbell County on Wednesday.
Lewis County 68, Russell 45 (BOYS)
After claiming the No. 1 seed in the 63rd District with a win over Raceland on Jan. 25, the Lions made it a clean regular season sweep of the district on Saturday with a 68-45 win over Russell.
Seth Wright led Lewis County with 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Sam O’Keefe added 17 points and nine rebounds.
The Lions improve to 14-9 overall and 6-0 in district play. They’re scheduled to host Fleming County Tuesday. Russell falls to 7-14 overall and 2-3 in district play with the loss. The Red Devils will host Greenup County on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Montgomery County 71, Fleming County 34 (BOYS)
The Panthers fell to Montgomery County on Saturday, 71-34, for the team’s third straight loss.
Cole Saunders was the only Fleming County player to score in double figures. The senior finished with 17 points. Aaron Christiansen had six, Landen Lutz had five, Larkin McKee had four and Sam Johnson had two.
The Panthers fall to 10-14 and are scheduled to travel to Lewis County on Tuesday. Montgomery County improves to 13-11 and will travel to Paris on Monday for a 7:30 p.m. game.
Bracken County 52, Pendleton County 37 (GIRLS)
Kennedy Carl scored 23 points to lead the Lady Bears to a 52-37 victory over Pendleton County in a homecoming game on Saturday.
Natalie Bell added 17 points for Bracken County and Aryah Myrick dominated the boards with 18 rebounds. The Lady Bears improve to 9-15 and will travel to Fleming County on Monday.
Pendleton County falls to 8-14 and will host Villa Madonna on Thursday.
Nicholas County 64, Robertson County 25 (GIRLS)
The Lady Jackets had three players finish with double figures in the scoring column to come away with a 64-25 victory over Robertson County on Saturday.
Shelby Stafford had 16 points, Autumn Adams had 13 points and Sydni Gifford had 11 points. Megan Cobb and Morgan Watkins added eight and seven points, respectively, for Nicholas County.
The Lady Jackets improve to 12-11 and will travel to Bourbon County on Thursday. Robertson County falls to 4-17 and will host St. Patrick on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
