Meadowview Regional Medical Center officials are in

the process of finding solutions for its cardiology and oncology

patients, as well as searching once more for a chief executive

officer to lead the facility.

Robert Parker, interim CEO said he takes over from

Brad Morse, who was appointed CEO as of May 30 and whose

resignation was effective Monday, July 25. Parker said he couldn’t

comment on when Morse turned in his resignation.

The following was released Tuesday by Meadowview’s

administrative office.

“Brad Morse has left the position of CEO of Meadowview

Regional Medical Center.   Effective immediately, Robert Parker

will serve as interim CEO of MRMC until a permanent replacement can

be named.  Parker, COO of Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center

in Somerset, Kentucky, is a seasoned hospital administrator with

more than seven years of  hospital experience and 16 years of

manufacturing leadership prior to that.  We are confident that we

will find the right person to fill the top leadership post on a

permanent basis.”

With Tuesday as his first day on the job, Parker said

there is a meeting scheduled Thursday to address the hospital’s

need for a cardiologist. MRMC purchased Ohio Valley Heart in March

2010. Since that time, Dr. Matthew Shotwell left Ohio Valley Heart

in May 2010, and Dr. Raghuraman Srinivasan notified MRMC of his

decision to resign from Ohio Valley Heart at the beginning of June.

His resignation is effective Sept. 1.

Parker said the meeting may also yield a solution to

changes with the oncology specialty clinic at MRMC. Currently,

Oncology Hematology Care Inc., of Cincinnati provides chemotherapy

treatments at the speciality clinic. Patients are seen on Monday

and Friday.

Parker said he has had communication the group is

pulling out as of Aug. 29, but he hasn’t had the chance to confirm

the information with Oncology Hematology Care officials.

Parker said MRMC would be working on the oncology

situation “immediately.”

“We are heavily engaged on working out a plan for the

community,” he said. “We don’t want our patients having to

travel.”

Larry Schlomer, chairman of the MRMC Board of Trustees

said Tuesday he wanted to assure the community the board would move

forward with its goal of making MRMC a regional hospital and that

heavy physician recruitment will continue, aside from the recent

administrative changes.
