Maysville City Manager Matt Wallingford said there has been a change in plans since workers have moved faster than anticipated on the Second Street utility project.

“Contractors for Columbia Gas made significant progress today (Feb. 27) on the Second Street Utility Project; and therefore, the section of Second Street between Market and Sutton Streets will be closed off to through traffic and parking starting tomorrow, Feb. 28,” Wallingford said.

Court Street will be completely closed off as well. There will be zero through traffic or parking. Also, the intersection of Second and Sutton streets will be closed off. Traffic and parking will be allowed on Sutton, but vehicles will need to turn around at the barricades at Second Street.

All streets will be re-opened upon daily completion of work, although parking will not be permitted on Second Street (between Market and Sutton).

Shuttle service will begin Thursday.
