At the recent 2022 Kentucky Prosecutor’s Conference, Lynn Harber of the Mason County Attorney’s office was awarded the Ian Sonego Award for excellence in prosecution by the Kentucky Prosecutors Advisory Council.

The Prosecutors Advisory Council is comprised of the Attorney General, three County Attorneys, three Commonwealth Attorneys and two citizen members, and is responsible for budgeting for and overseeing all of Kentucky’s prosecutors. The Sonego Award is the highest honor awarded prosecutorial staff.

Lynn Harber initially joined the office of the Commonwealth Attorney in 1993 and joined the office of Mason County Attorney John Estill in 1994, where she has continuously served since. During her tenure in the office of the County Attorney, Lynn has been in constant support of law enforcement and a tireless advocate for victims of crime. Lynn has developed expertise and excelled in the areas of extradition, search warrant drafting and protoccols, jury instructions and trial preparation. Lynn is a paralegal, earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, and attended the Chase Law School at Northern Kentucky University.

County Attorney John Estill was proud of Harber’s recognition with her receipt of the Sonego Award.

“Lynn represents excellence in all aspects of prosecution. While the award is a nice honor, it celebrates what prosecutors and law enforcement have known all along. We are blessed to have someone like Lynn Harber supporting our efforts,” he said.
