GEORGETOWN, Ohio – A Ripley, Ohio man has been charged with several counts of rape in Brown County in relation to sexual crimes against minors.
Daniel Fite was recently arrested after turning himself in to authorities and charged with eight counts of first-degree felony rape, two counts of second-degree felonious assault, two counts of third-degree felony endangering children and two counts of third-degree felony gross sexual imposition.
According to Fite’s indictment, he allegedly raped a 9-year-old and 12-year-old girl both digitally and through intercourse. The indictment alleges that incidents occurred over a period of two years, from May 20, 2016 to May 4, 2018.
According to the indictment, Fite’s actions led to him knowingly causing serious physical harm to the victims, whom he was caring for.
The indictment also alleged that Fite “compelled the victim to submit by force or threat of force,” in relation to the 9-year-old.
Fite is currently being held at the Brown County Jail on a $500,000 cash, surety or property bond. As of press time, he is still incarcerated.
Fite was ordered to have no contact with the victims.
According to court documents, Fite’s first pre-trial conference will be held on June 5 at 9 a.m.
