Last weekend, The Ledger Independent received several advertising and editorial awards from the Kentucky Press Association (KPA).

MPD body cam footage released following alleged altercation

Body camera footage of an altercation between former Maysville Police Department (MPD) Chief Michael Palmer and MPD Major Chris Conley has recently become accessible to the public. The footage, which depicts the two men in what appears to be a heightened conversation following an alleged physical assault by Palmer, was followed by a formal complaint issued by Conley stating that this behavior was not unprecedented.

JPC holds public hearings on proposed data center text amendment

In the wake of a potential data center project in Mason County, the Maysville-Mason County Joint Planning Commission (JPC) held two days of public hearings, taking in input about data centers from residents, local officials, state officials and more.
