Fossils of Kentucky – October 10
Join paleontologist/interpretive naturalist Alan Goldstein for an afternoon look at fossils of Kentucky. Alan has worked at the Falls of the Ohio State Park in Clarksville, IN since 1993. With more than 50 years experience, Alan can also help you identify unknown rocks and fossils in YOUR collection. Bring your special find and share! Join us at the Pioneer Museum, Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 3pm. FREE Admission to the Pioneer Museum during this program!
The Zombie Walk at Blue Licks – October 24
Specifics will follow very soon. The evening will include a zombie walk through the park, plenty of pictures, finishing with a screening of George Romero’s 1968 classic “The Night of the Living Dead.” The movie that started it all up on the big screen with food concessions available and more. We’ll be raffling off prizes for those that show up in full ZOMBIE costume as well as a ZOMBIE competition. Just to cover the screening expenses, there will be a $5 entry for the evening. We may even throw in a good ‘Thriller” interlude at the museum!
Halloween Campout Celebration – October 30 and 31
One of Blue Licks largest events, visitors can enjoy all things scary and spooky in this Halloween extravaganza! Participate in the jack-o-lantern carving contest and the costume competition. Decorate your site for a chance to win a weekend stay in the campground. Haunted mini golf available and so much more! 9th Annual Tanner Station Rifle Frolic – November 7 & 8
Please join us for the ninth-annual Tanner’s Station rifle frolic Saturday, November 7th and Sunday, November 8th at Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park, Blue Licks, Kentucky. Saturday’s events include an off hand championship and a night shooting event. Sunday’s team shoot is open to any three-man team. Shooting begins at 10:00am each day. Prizes include a variety of high quality items. This is a premier living history shooting event. Come ready for anything. All shooting will be from the bag, fixed open sights, round ball, full stock flintlock rifle. No steel, fiberglass, or brass range rods. Shooters are to use the wood ramrod that fits in the thimbles of his or her rifle. No shaders. Loading blocks are allowed. Targets range to 200 yards. Period camping is available on the grounds of Tanner’s Station. Modern camping and rooms are available at Blue Licks State Resort Park. Shooters must compete Saturday, Saturday night and Sunday to be eligible for all prizes.
December Dinner Theater – December 11 & 12
Patrons will dine from a delicious all-you-can-eat buffet featuring Kentucky State Park favorites as well as a dessert buffet. Afterwards, be treated to world-class entertainment! Blue Licks brings you this year’s event “Comedy in the Parks!” Join us for an evening of extravagant dining and comedy entertainment.
