Snarf is an adorable guy who is looking for his fur-ever home. He is good with cats, good with dogs, housetrained, and kennel trained. Snarf adores all people, including the older children who visit the shelter. He also loves to cuddle, which comes in handy on cold, winter days. This professional lap dog does not know any tricks, but he sure does know how to be handsome! This boy is amazingly easy to walk on a leash and would enjoy leisurely walks while meeting all your neighborhood friends. If you are looking for a loyal, loving dog, he is your guy!

Snarf’s owner had to surrender him to the shelter when they could no longer keep him. His former owner and the shelter team want Snarf to have the best fur-ever home possible. If you can provide this boy with the love and attention he deserves, scan the QR code beside his picture and apply to adopt him now!

U.S. News recently reported that dog ownership has significant health benefits for their owners, especially for mature owners. There is a correlation between owning a dog and heart health, positive mood, physical fitness, and normalization of blood pressure. Walking dogs around the neighborhood and in dog parks increases both physical activity and socialization. However, adopting a dog with an activity level matches your physical abilities and lifestyle is key to providing a fur-ever home that benefits both you and the dog. MCAS needs more volunteers and foster homes! You can foster a dog for as long as you like — a few hours or a “Doggo Day Out,” a weekend, a few weeks, or longer. Volunteers can help in many ways, including walking dogs, grooming/bathing dogs, helping with playgroups, transporting, or helping at meet-and-greet events out in the community. If you want to become an MCAS volunteer and/or fosterer or sponsor a dog’s adoption fees, please call the shelter at 606-564-6067 or email animalshelter@masoncountykentucky.us.

Visit and follow the shelter’s Facebook page for more information on all available dogs, the volunteer program, foster programs, and upcoming events at https://www.facebook.com/masoncountyanimalshelter.
