Freddie is an adorable low-rider Basset-who knows what else-mix. He is the perfect size to be a house dog. This guy is a gentleman, calm, and loves to cuddle with people! Freddie is 100% potty-trained. He always keeps his kennel clean and only does his business outside on walks. This guy is easy to walk on a leash and does not pull. He also gets along well with other dogs and children. He is the ideal dog!

Freddie is one of the most photogenic dogs we have ever seen! He gives the best smiles and always has one ear up and one down. He would look perfect on your family’s Christmas card this year! Like most of our shelter dogs, Freddie came to the shelter as a stray and was not reclaimed. If you want to give him his fur-ever home, scan the QR code beside his picture and apply to adopt him now!

You may have seen the posts on the shelter’s Facebook page about the Jordan’s Way Tour fundraiser on Tuesday, 10/29/2024, from 6 PM to 9 PM. To reach our fundraising goals, we ask that everyone share this event and donate what they can. If we reach $25,000, Judge Executive Owen McNeill will get a tattoo LIVE on Facebook! Other community members, including Sheriff Ryan Swolsky, Megan Davenport, Commissioner Joe McKay, Treasurer Kim Muse, and shelter team members, are stepping up to do stunts as we reach fundraising goals. Go to the Mason County Animal Shelter page on Facebook for more information: https://www.facebook.com/masoncountyanimalshelter. Donations will also be accepted in person at the shelter during the event. Funds raised will help rebuild and expand the shelter’s outdoor kennel runs, which will make a massive difference in the lives of the shelter dogs!

MCAS needs more volunteers and foster homes! You can foster a dog for as long as you like, a few hours or a “Doggo Day Out,” a weekend, a few weeks, or longer. Volunteers can help in many ways, including walking dogs, grooming/bathing dogs, helping with playgroups, transporting, or helping at meet-and-greet events out in the community. If you want to become an MCAS volunteer and/or fosterer or sponsor a dog’s adoption fees, please call the shelter at 606-564-6067 or email animalshelter@masoncountykentucky.us.
