MAYSVILLE – Wanda Jean Arrasmith Simms Buchanan, 90, was sent to her eternal home, Nov. 29, 2025, at the Hospice of Hope Care Center.

Jean, as she was known by many, was born Dec. 9, 1934, in Hillsboro, Ky., to the late John and Velma McRoberts Arrasmith. She worked for 16 years at the Cotton Mill and retired from Walmart after 18 years.

Jean enjoyed quilting, trips to Tennessee, blackberry picking, cooking, watching game shows and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include four sons, Eddie (Brenda) Simms, Ronnie (Linda) Simms, Ricky (Stacy) Simms and Timmy (Tonia) Simms; 15 grandchildren, Chad (Melody) Simms, Chris (Kia) Simms, Amber Mitchell, BJ Mitchell, Gloria Cooper, Aaron (Angela) Cooper, Anthony Cooper, Bethany (Nate) Jarrell, Kelly Black, Madyson Simms, Ashley (Mario) Saavedra, Amanda (Artie) Simms, Zach (Andrew) Simms, Brianna (David) Simms, Savannah (Eli) Simms; step-son, Larry Buchanan; 25 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; her fur baby, Rusty; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by husbands Charles Edward Simms, and Clyde Buchanan; four brothers, Osborne, Scottie, Junior and Jackie Arrasmith; and a granddaughter, Jessica Tumlin.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Brell and Son Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 4, at Olivet Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Eddie, Ronnie, Ricky and Timmy Simms and David and Greg Arrasmith. Honorary Pallbearers will be Artie Gibbs, Chris and Chad Simms.
