Pablo Escobark quickly won over the shelter team. If you are looking for a cuddle buddy, he is your guy! He loves to be held and is an excellent lap dog. This boy is also treat-motivated. If you are not very athletic, Pablo has your back, as he loves his naps. He is also excellent on a leash for neighborhood walks. Pablo is housetrained, good with other dogs, and passed his “cat test” with flying colors. It is safe to say, he gets along well with everyone.

Pablo came to the shelter as a stray and was not reclaimed by his owner. This guy deserves a safe, comfortable home with an owner who will provide the love and attention he craves and deserves. If you are interested in adopting Pablo, scan the QR code beside his picture to learn more and fill out the linked adoption application.

Rock 4 Rescue is a non-profit partner to Mason County Animal Shelter. This organization pays the veterinarian directly for heartworm tests for all the shelter dogs and community pet spay/neuter surgeries, purchases microchips for the dogs directly from Merck, and pays other vendors directly for vaccines and dewormer for community cat rescuers. When shelter dog Max had a positive heartworm test, Rock 4 Rescue stepped up to pay the veterinarian for half of his treatment expense, with the county paying the other half, to save his life. By paying vendors and veterinarians directly, Rock 4 Rescue can account for every expense, and confirm that community and shelter pets are receiving what they need. If you are interested in fostering Max while he completes his heartworm treatment, or even fostering-to-adopt, please contact the shelter.

Rock 4 Rescue is currently accepting sponsors for their 2026 events. The 4th annual Maysville Mutt Strutt will be held at Ford Acres Farm on Saturday, June 6th, and the 4th annual Rock 4 Rescue Benefit Concert will be held on August 28th at the historic Washington Opera House. Proceeds from both events benefit the Mason County Animal Shelter dogs and other at-risk Mason County community pets. If you are interested in becoming an event sponsor, or donating to the cause, go to www.rock4rescue.com for more information. Follow Rock 4 Rescue on Facebook to keep up on all events and enjoy videos and pictures of the shelter dogs.

MCAS needs more volunteers and foster homes! You can foster a dog for as long as you like — a few hours or a “Doggo Day Out,” a weekend, a few weeks, or longer. Volunteers can help in many ways, including walking dogs, grooming/bathing dogs, helping with playgroups, transporting, or helping at meet-and-greet events out in the community. If you want to become an MCAS volunteer and/or fosterer or sponsor a dog’s adoption fees, please call the shelter at 606-564-6067 or email animalshelter@masoncountykentucky.us.
