MAY’S LICK  | Irvin Samuel Jones, 78, of Maysville, died Sunday, May 12, 2013, at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe.

He was a retired bulldozer operator.

Mr. Jones was born in Fleming County on Feb. 26, 1935, son of the late Melvin Daniel and Anna Dugan Jones.

He was a member of Lewisburg Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Young Jones; a daughter, Andrea Lynn Jones of Lexington; four step-sons, Robert P. Emmons of Berea, Mark W. Emmons, Gary D. (Kathy) Emmons and Noel Anthony Emmons, all of Maysville; six grandchildren, Brittana Turner, Amari Jones, Samuel Jones, Tierra Jones, Kalyn Emmons and Coty Emmons; a brother, Eugene (Dorothy) Jones of Maysville; sisters, Ruth Ann (Douglas) Brown of Maysville, Ruby (Bob) Gilpin of Cincinnati and Mildred Jones Downing of N.C.; several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Barbara Joy Jones; and a nephew, Danny (Sherri) Jones.

Services will be conducted at noon today, Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Palmer Funeral Home in May’s Lick.

Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery on Pea Ridge, Fleming County.

Visitation 10 a.m. until noon, today at the funeral home.
