GEORGETOWN, Ohio | Travelers on U.S. 68 in Brown County should plan for alternate routes June 1-10.
Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County Highway Maintenance Facility have scheduled a culvert replacement project on U.S. 68 next month, requiring a 10-day closure of the road.
U.S. 68 will be closed between the communities of Five Mile and Chasetown for crews to replace a deteriorated culvert near the 38.5-mile marker between Vilvens Road and McCafferty Road, approximately one mile south of Ohio 131.
The closure will go into effect at approximately 8 a.m. June 1, and it remain in effect until 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, or until all work is completed, ODOT officials said.
While the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via Ohio 286 and U.S. 50 at Fayetteville.
