Children’s author coming to Maysville

Author and Illustrator Beth Gully will be at the Kenton Pointe Assisted Living Community on Oct. 5. -

Author and Illustrator Beth Gully will be sharing her awe-inspiring children’s book, “The Other Side of Christmas” at the Kenton Pointe Assisted Living Community on Oct. 5, 2018 at 3 p.m.

Gully will engage participants with her live art drawing that will create an ‘aha’ moment for the viewers. Following she will read her book which tells the Christmas story with Santa Claus when it is read in one direction. Then, when the book is flipped upside down, the ending becomes the beginning as the same images (ambigrams) tell the Christian Christmas story of the birth of Jesus.

Gully created the book to help children and parents keep Christ in Christmas. In it’s fun and whimsical way it captivates the reader as it shares the Christmas story.

“It’s important to keep Christ in Christmas, and I believe this book offers a way to transition from the secular activities of Christmas to the sacred true story of Jesus and the nativity,” said Gully.

Gully has received 10 awards for her book, three of which are international honors. Her book was released in September 2014 and book sales to date have far exceeded the average lifetime sales for any self-published book.

All ages are encouraged to attend. The Kenton Pointe Assisted Living Community is located at 1455 Kenton Pointe Way in Maysville. Gully and her husband Dave reside in the historic town of Lebanon, Ohio.
