Meet Maysville’s Young Professionals: Seth Faulkner

Name: Seth Faulkner

Job Title: Mason County High School Principal.

Children: Isaac Marshall, 14, and Tatum Faulkner, 6.

Pets: English Golden Retriever named Zeke.

Current residence: Maysville.

Hometown: Maysville.

Why did you decide to stay/what brought you here: After college, I wanted to come back to Maysville because it’s my home. It’s where I grew up and where my family lives. I also wanted to give back and be a positive role model for the youth in my hometown.

How do you hope to better your community: I aspire to better my community through my interactions with the young people in our school. I want to be a positive mentor who helps students find their strengths and pursue their passions.

What are some of your interests: Anything related to sports, especially running and playing golf. I also love to travel and spend time with my family.

What is something that would surprise most people about you: I played small college football at Georgetown College, where I was part of two NAIA national championship teams.

Where do you see yourself in five years: Continuing to learn and improve in my role as principal of Mason County High School and giving back to the community that provided me with so many opportunities as a child and young adult.

How do you hope to achieve your goals over the next five years: By holding true to my priorities of faith and family. I will work hard and surround myself with quality people who will hold me accountable and I will remain focused on the fact that my actions impact more than just myself.

You listed your job title, but what was your dream job as a child: As a child, I always dreamed of being a professional athlete. When I realized that wasn’t a reality, I wanted to become a teacher and a coach.

What do you love most about your job: I love interacting with the students and staff at Mason County High School.

What do you love most about Maysville: I love the small town feel and the people in our community. I have a lot of pride in my hometown and I believe that the positives of Maysville far outweigh the negatives.
