Four people arrested in the Germantown area last week after Mason County Sheriff Patrick Boggs acted on a tip to his office concerning drug activity at his residence made their first appearance in court Wednesday.
A fifth person arrested during the raid had his case continued.
The sheriff said his office received a call concerning alleged drug activity at a mobile home on Tangletown Road. The caller said methamphetamine was being manufactured at the house, Boggs said. He responded to the address with his deputies, also acting on information that a fugitive was living there, Boggs said.
According to testimony given during proceedings before Judge Jeffrey Schumacher, when deputies arrived on the scene Johnathan Lee Reed, 33, and Jimmy R. Dodson, 38, were standing behind a vehicle and Dodson ran while Reed put his hand in the trunk of the car. Joshua Riley, 27, allegedly escaped from the trailer out a back window and Amie Wilson, 25, was found hiding under a bed during a search of the residence.
A 17-year-old male was also found at the mobile home and surrendered to police and reported that weapons — a shotgun and knives — could be found inside the trailer, according to testimony from Deputy Jacob Kelsch. A fifth person, Bradley Stitt, 34, was found hiding in the bathroom of the mobile home, Kelsch said.
After obtaining a search warrant, police said they found methamphetamine, paraphernalia, scales, marijuana and marijuana plants in the home and in vehicles parked outside the home. The home was allegedly being rented by Riley.
Following the preliminary hearings, all four had their cases forwarded to a Mason County grand jury for consideration. They include:
— Wilson, on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine, buy or possess drug paraphernalia, cultivating marijuana.
— Riley, on charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance methamphetamine, buy or possess drug paraphernalia, cultivating marijuana, second-degree fleeing or evading police, endangering the welfare of a minor; trafficking in marijuana; trafficking in marijuana.
— Reed, on a charge of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance methamphetamine.
— Dodson, on a charge of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance methamphetamine.
Stitt’s case was continued until April 18 and his bond amended to $1,000 surety.
