CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – Several road projects will be affecting traffic in Adams and Brown counties in the coming weeks.
In Adams County, Ohio 770 is reduced to one lane near Tranquility Pike around two miles east of Ohio 247 due to a pavement slip. According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, a project to repair the route is in, but until permanent repairs can be made traffic will be maintained by temporary signals.
Ohio 247, the Village of Seaman’s Main Street, has been reduced to one lane for slot paving. According to ODOT, crews will be working from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. each day. Traffic is being maintained by flaggers during the hours of operations until the project is complete on April 27. ODOT advised that motorists may encounter intermittent periods of delay, especially at intersecting streets, and residents are being asked to avoid parking on Main Street.
On Monday, May 7 a slide repair project on Pumpkin Ridge Road just east of the route’s junction with Sherwood road is scheduled to begin. Throughout construction, the route will be closed and traffic will be detoured locally via Sherwood Road and Island Creek Road. According to ODOT, work is scheduled to be complete by early fall.
In Brown County, Ohio 125 is reduced to one lane between Paeltz Road and Oak Woods Road two miles east of Russellville due to a slip. According to ODOT, crews will be working to restore the route in early May as weather and equipment scheduling permit. While the route is restricted, traffic will be maintained by temporary signals.
A resurfacing project is scheduled to begin this week along Paeltz Road and Oak Woods Road, weather permitting. Crews will be paving Ohio 125 through Georgetown, Ohio between Hillcrest Drive and U.S. 68 as well as U.S. 68 between its junction with Ohio 125 and U.S. 62 south of Georgetown. According to ODOT, traffic will be maintained in one lane by flaggers, and the project is scheduled to be completed in late fall.
Operations for a slide repair and culvert installation project are also scheduled to resume this week on Ohio 125. ODOT crews will be completing paving and finishing work between Gillette Station Road and Old Infirmary Road. Traffic will be maintained in one 12-foot lane and with the use of flaggers as needed.
