There’s no one, single way to define Terry Prather – the ultimate master of photography so I just say his sports photos for The Ledger Independent over the years are simply, art.

Terry knows that it is more than just pushing a button on a camera to give the Ledger great photos, which are the reader’s windows to the great sporting events in our area. Of all the forms of expression, photography is the only one which seizes the instant moment and Terry has that sixth sense about what was getting ready to transpire. His action photos captured the moment for us to enjoy.

As everyone knows, I love photos and I believe that all memories demand an image. Terry Prather and his action photos are going to be missed, but his photos are art and they are hanging in our memories. Happy retirement, Terry.

The answer to last week’s trivia question was that Mike Gottfried was the former QB from Morehead State that later became the head football coach for the UC Bearcats. The first to answer were Peggy Frame, Tom Sims and Perry Allen. This week’s trivia question is about MHS football.

This former head football coach of the Maysville Bulldogs signed a free agent contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers and participated in their training camp.

Who was it?

This week’s picks (Last week: 14-6, 110-30 YTD, 79%)

Ohio State over Northwestern: The Buckeyes can name the final score in this mismatch.

Clemson over Louisville: The Cards scored 62 points in their upset win last week, they should have saved some of them.

Cincinnati over Tulsa: The Bearcats passed a big road test last week, they win this one by 16.

Iowa over Purdue: The Hawkeyes get back on track as they beat an injury-riddled Purdue team.

Texas over Kansas: Les Miles, the head coach of Kansas, has no answer to the Longhorns offense.

Florida over South Carolina: The Gamecocks shocked the world last week, but I take the Gators.

Georgia over Kentucky: To say the Cats are entering a hostile and mad Bulldog team is an understatement.

LSU over Mississippi State: If you have not noticed, the Bayou Bengals are pretty good.

Alabama over Tennessee: The modest one-game winning streak ends for the Volunteers.

Oklahoma over West Virginia: The Sooner will score over 55 in this Big 12 game.

Auburn over Arkansas: The Tigers of Auburn will skin the Hogs by 18.

Texas A&M over Mississippi: The Aggies play a tough schedule, but they should cruise in this one.

Minnesota over Rutgers: The Gophers are putting some points on the board, I say around 60 in this game.

Missouri over Vanderbilt: The men from Nashville simply cannot score this season.

Western Kentucky over Charlotte: The Toppers defense is top notch as they held Army in check last week.

Penn State over Michigan: The Nittany Lions at home are tough as I take them by six.

Murray State over Eastern Kentucky: The Racers will pull this OVC tilt out by three points.

Kansas State over TCU: My upset pick of the week as I take the Wildcats at home.

Morehead State over Butler: After their big upset win last weekend, the Eagles take care of the Dogs in Morehead.

Wisconsin over Illinois: In my opinion, the Badgers are the second-best team in the Big 10, behind the Buckeyes.
