HILLSBORO – Fred Newell “Freddy” Royse, 78, of 97 Ringos Mills Road, Hillsboro, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002 at the Robertson County Health Care Facility in Mount Olivet.
He was born on Feb. 23, 1924, in Fleming County and was the son of the late James Marshall Royse and Eva E. Royse.
Mr. Royse was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, a former employee of the Kentucky Department of Transportation-maintenance, a member of the Christian Church, former member of the American Legion and a former employee of the Hutton Funeral Home.
Surviving are four brothers, Clarence Royse and James Royse, both of Marion, Ind., Wayne Fannin of Flemingsburg, and Emerson Fannin of Winchester; three sisters, Evelyn Reed of Rocky Mount, N.C., Alma Wilson of Flemingsburg, and Carol Gibb of Burke, Va. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lorene Jeanette Howard and Thelma Brodt; and one brother, Claude Royse.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hutton Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Osborn officiating. Burial in the Hillsboro Cemetery with full military rites conducted at the graveside by Flemingsburg American Legion and VFW.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Robinson, Jewell Call, Gene Leonard Hickerson, Calvin Flora, Harold Humphries, Tim Vise, Roy Wayne Sorrell, Don Humphries and Wayne Lewis.
Visitation after 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
