FLEMINGSBURG — Mamie White Rose, 81, of Flemingsburg, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021, after a long illness.

She was the widow of John “Buck” Rose who passed away in 2014.

Mamie was born Jan. 12, 1940, in Fairview, to the late James W. and Elizabeth Thomas White.

She is survived by two daughters, Judy (Danny) Moran and Jan (Brad Stacy) Howard. Also surviving are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Tyler (Tracy) and Beau Moran of Elizaville, Katie (Russ) Mason, Kade and Brody Mason of Maysville. Brent (Becky) Howard and Braydon Roberts of Owingsville, and Brie Stacy of Flemingsburg. Her brother, James (Kathleen) White of Flemingsburg and a sister Dixie Norton of Carlisle, her sisters-in-law who were like sisters, Patsy Collins of Flemingsburg, Gerry Moore of Jackson, Ohio, and Jo Neilson of Scranton, Kan. Also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, and her brother, G. W. White.

Mamie worked for 48 years at Wald Manufacturing in Maysville. She enjoyed her family and friends and was fun, spirited, upbeat and a fighter. She was an inspiration to all and helped to restore hope and faith for so many.

She was a member of the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church at Fairview.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Fairview with Brother Bill Leet officiating.

She will be laid to rest in the Elizaville Cemetery. Serving as pall bearers will be Danny Moran, Brad Stacy, Tyler Moran, Brent Howard, Russ Mason and Ben Moran.

Visitation at the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Fairview will be after noon on Wednesday.
