Amphibian Migration

In this April 10 photo, an eager Spotted Salamander crosses the road to get to its breeding pool, on North Lincoln Street in Keene, N.H. Frogs, salamanders and toads have a shorter window for their annual migration to the temporary vernal pools where they breed thanks to this year’s late spring and the trend toward hotter and dryer summers.
