GEORGETOWN, Ohio | Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation are preparing for a bridge replacement project on Ohio 505 in Brown County, with construction getting under way next week.
Crews from Coopers Excavating will be replacing a bridge located at the 7.24-mile marker on Ohio 505, between Ohio 756 and Feesburg-Poetown Road.
Construction includes replacing the existing corrugated metal arch structure which is over the Middle Branch of Bullskin Creek with a four-sided, pre-cast concrete box culvert and full-height wing walls.
Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, Aug. 24, and the route will be closed to traffic for up to 60 days.
While it is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of Love Road and Eden Road.
Coopers Excavating of Winchester, Ohio was awarded a $304,522 contract to replace the bridge, and weather permitting, all work should be completed in late October, ODOT officials said.
