The fourth annual Maysville Mutt Strutt is heading back to town on Saturday, June 6. This event, which will be held at 6009 Ford Acres Farm in Maysville, will last from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Barbara Bern of Rock 4 Rescue expressed that this event is a fun way to raise money for the organization.
Registration for the event will open at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. At that time, vendors will begin setting up and a photo background area will become available.
The Mutt Strutt will officially begin at 11 a.m. with a warm welcome. At this time, the obstacle course will open for individuals to practice with their pups.
Representatives have announced that this year, the annual scavenger hunt will include a fun twist.
“We do a scavenger hunt every year. This year we’re doing a golden dog bone,” Bern explained. “We hid dog bones and they have a number on it, and if you find one and bring it back, you get that number. There’s 20 bags with numbers on them. You get that number prize.”
Afterward, there will be a pet parade and beach-themed costume contest for individuals and their furry friends at noon.
Bern noted that this year’s costume contest was inspired by Rock 4 Rescue’s 2026 benefit concert, which will be held in August and feature a Jimmy Buffett tribute band called Parrots of the Caribbean.
Doggy Dash races will commence at 12:30 p.m., followed by obstacle courses and agility competitions at 1 p.m. Final prizes will be announced at 1:45 p.m.
“It’s so dog-friendly. It’s a good day to get out and enjoy your family, have fun with your dog, enjoy the animal lover atmosphere and music and food and drinks,” said Bern.
Mutt Strutt representatives request that dogs be on six-foot-long leashes and be fully vaccinated.
Sponsors for the event include Anderson Jones CPA, The Ledger Independent, The Moose Lodge, C&D Electronics, Abbey Roads Farm, Tom and Gail Wise, Trinity Church, Merle Normal, Peoples Bank of Kentucky, Colonial Heights, Nikki and Brad Stephens, Harriet and Ric Grimmer, Kathy Phillips and Kern Food Distributions.
