The Greenhouse in Gertrude of Brooksville has enrolled in the 2008 Kentucky Farm Bureau Certified Roadside Farm Market Program. This is The Greenhouse’s fourth year with the program. A total of 82 markets have enrolled in this year’s program.
In joining the Kentucky Farm Bureau program The Greenhouse in Gertrude has committed to offering quality products and service. Its acceptance by Farm Bureau as a Certified Market tells customers that The Greenhouse in Gertrude meets the highest standards of quality, freshness and marketing appeal. The Greenhouse in Gertrude grows and sells a variety of flower and vegetable plants on Mt. Zion Road, just off Highway 875. “The demand for locally grown products continues to increase,” said Marshall Coyle, president of Kentucky Farm Bureau. “The Farm Bureau certification program is opening new sales opportunities for small and mid-size markets through coordinated promotional activities.”
