Burglary suspect arrested after chase

Law enforcement personnel chased and captured a man Friday morning, suspected in a string of burglaries and car break-ins.

Mason County Sheriff Patrick Boggs said Tommy Richmond, 25, of Ripley, Ohio, was arrested after a two-and-half-mile foot chase that took the suspect and officials from Kentucky 9 at the Paradise Breeze Water Park to the 4100 area of Clark’s Run Road.

Boggs said officers have been looking for the vehicle Richmond was driving, a white Hyundai with Ohio tags, for two weeks in relation to recent thefts.

It was spotted by Deputy Terry Fryman and an agent with the Buffalo Trace/Gateway Area Narcotics Task Force at a local business and then a traffic stop was conducted on Kentucky 9 near the water park at 10:56 a.m.

Boggs said Richmond jumped out of the car and fled across the highway, with officers in pursuit.  Two women were in the car at the time and remained at the car.  Stacey Jolley, 24, of Ripley, was arrested at the scene on a warrant for receiving stolen property under $10,000.  The second woman, who was not identified, was not arrested.

Richmond has been charged with two counts fugitive from justice from another state; five counts first-degree fleeing and evading; one count tampering with physical evidence; criminal mischeif; and giving police false name.

Boggs said he expects Richmond to face “multiple other charges” in relation to thefts and break-ins in the Maysville and Mason County area.

MCSO was assisted by members of the Maysville Police Department.
