Blankenship elected Vanceburg mayor

VANCEBURG — With a voter turnout of 33 percent, Dana Blankenship emerged the victor for the office of Vanceburg mayor after the polls closed Tuesday night.

Blankenship received 164 votes to secure the office, with John Grabill securing 95 votes and incumbent Matt Ginn receiving 74.

The winner will now preside over a council which will include Kathy McCann who received 211 votes, Chris McGlone with 209 votes, Karen L. Fraley with 178 votes, Joni Pugh with 154 votes, Angie Patton with 152 votes and Glenn D. Bannister with 136 votes.

Other candidates who ran for Vanceburg City Council include Charles J. Hall with 121 votes, Larry W. Carrington with 120 votes, Douglas Lodge with 102 votes and Cathy L. Thurman with 79 votes.

Other results in Lewis County include:

U.S. Representative 4th District (Lewis County totals only) — Republican Thomas Massie 2,620 votes, Democrat Seth Hall 516 and Independent Mike Moffett 75.

State Representative — Democrat Rocky Adkins received 1,877 votes.

Commonwealth’s Attorney District 20 — Democrat Melvin C. Leonhart received 1,523 votes.

Circuit Clerk — Republican Kathy Hardy received 2,472 votes.

PVA — Republican Kenneth Ruckel received 2,342 votes.

Judge-Executive — Republican Todd Ruckel received 2,498 votes.

County Attorney — Representative Benjamin L. Harrison received 2,573 votes

County Clerk — Republican Glenda K. Himes received 2,662 votes.

Sheriff — Republican Johnny W. Bivens received 2,833 votes.

Jailer —Republican Jeff Lykins received 2,682 votes.

Coroner — Republican Tony Gaydos received 2,705 votes

County Surveyor — Republican Michael D. Ruggles received 2,531 votes.

Magistrate District 1 — Republican Terri Thomas received 736 votes

Constable District 1 — Republican David Lancaster received 709 votes.

Magistrate District 2 — Republican David Iery received 634 votes.

Constable District 2 — Republican Carey Highfield received 615 votes.

Magistrate District 3 — Republican Woody Underwood received 667 votes.

Magistrate District 4 — Republican Chuck Swearingen received 598 votes.

District Judge District 20 — Brian C. McCloud received 1685 votes

Lewis County Board of Education District 1 — Todd Sartin received 325 votes.

Lewis County Board of Education District 2 — Cindy Applegate received 416 votes.

Lewis County Board of Education District 3 — Sarah Willis received 354 votes.

Mayor of Concord — Jerry Walker received 7 votes

Concord City Commissioners — Lovell Polley received 7 votes, as well as Lynda Polley, Carol Campbell and Sheila Walker.
