The St. Patrick School Lego Robotics team competed on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019 in the NKY Regional First Lego League Tournament at Turkeyfoot Middle School. The SPS Architects competed against 39 other teams from the Northern Kentucky area and was honored as the firt place overall winner.

The St. Patrick School Lego Robotics team is part of the First Lego League organization, which promotes teamwork, learning, and camaraderie among its members.

Team members use NXT and EV3 software to design, build, and program their own robot to navigate an obstacle course related to each year’s theme. Team members research and formulate their own solution to each years’ problem, then reach out to share their solution with the community. Not only do students have to research their project development and program the robot, but the team is also judged on gracious professionalism, teamwork, and inspiring others.

Members of the team are Jacob Berry, Cameron Shelton, Romulo Jacobs, Ethan Klee, Victor Neil, Gabriel Sammons, Wolfgang Fite, and Joshua Berry. Margaret Klee is their advisor.

The St. Patrick School Lego Robotics team will compete in the state competition on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020, at Northern Kentucky University.
