The Orangeburg Community Choir will be presenting two free Christmas music performances.

Dec. 1, the choir will be performing at the Orangeburg United Methodist Church at 3 p. m. in the sanctuary of the church. On Dec. 8, the choir will be performing at the Mount Olivet Christian Church in Mount Olivet, at 3 p. m.

The choir will be performing Messiah (Heaven’s Glory). The music is arranged by Russell Mauldin and Narration by Sue C. Smith. The musical relives the birth of Jesus so long ago in Bethlehem. The baby born would change the world. He came as our Messiah, to redeem and deliver us. The music celebrates the coming Messiah with a worshipful retelling of the Christmas story. Seth Adamson will be serving as the narrator. Garnet Trimble is the director of the choir, and Vieda Stitt serves as the pianist.

The men in the choir will also be performing the beautiful “The Little Drummer Boy.” The words and music is by Katherine Davis, Henry Onorati, and Harry Simone. The music is arranged by Mark Hayes.

The choir will also be performing a delightful rendition of “Deck the Halls.” The musical selection is called “Various Themes on “Fa-La-La” by Chuck Bridwell.
