To The Ledger Independent,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped to make the Augusta College Echo Hall Association’s Bourbon, Barbecue and Bluegrass such a resounding success.

First of all, thanks to our presenting sponsors who stepped forward early on — Reynolds Pharmacy, Clark and Sherry Hennessey, Gary St. Clair Roofing and Exteriors and Miller Home Center.

Thanks to those who bought tickets, attended, enjoyed dinner, good music and, of course, a drink of bourbon and bid or cheered on bidders during our premium bourbon auction. You helped put us over the top and really put the “Wow” in the evening.

Thanks to Allison Parker for her delightful job of auctioning the bourbon and nudging bidders to bid just a little more. What a asset she is for our community.

Thanks to Mayor Michael Taylor, City Clerk Gretchen England and city council for their support.

Thanks to Steve Kelsch and Justin Kearns at R’s Liquor who were extraordinarily helpful. We simply could not have done this without your support, donations and knowledge.

Thanks to Todd Kelsch and David Williams for their work as volunteer bartenders. Great job, guys! You kept the drinks flowing.

Thanks to Chief Babz Goldman who donated dozens of the best ever bourbon balls for dessert. They were a hit — every smidgen was consumed.

Thanks to caterer and barbecuer extraordinaire Staci Graves Jett. Her barbecue received rave reviews with many people letting us know it was the best brisket they had ever eaten. Not only that, she also donated a barbecued brisket to the auction. What a great gesture.

Thanks to Pat and Brandi for the wonderful music that kept the crowd entertained.

Thanks to The Ledger Independent, Bracken County News and WFTM for promoting our event.

And of course, thanks to everyone who donated bourbon for our premium bourbon auction. It really helped “raise the roof” for Echo Hall.

Finally, thanks to all of my fellow ACHEA members for a job willingly and well done. You are a pleasure to work with and a group of which I am proud to be a member. We are small in numbers but mighty in spirit. When I look back on what we have accomplished in the last two years I am truly amazed. The future for Echo Hall is exciting to contemplate with this group behind it.

Sincerely,

Mary Ann Kearns
