Do the people of Mason County know that the Maysville Police Department has jurisdiction all over Mason County? I didn’t know that, until an officer sitting out at the top of Pyles Hill running radar, and I stopped and asked him what he was doing out of the city limits. He said he has jurisdiction all over Mason County, and he’s federal, and he can go to Mount Sterling or any place and help the police department out. What do we pay our deputy sheriffs for?

First, I appreciate the Comment Line — I wish everyone would subscribe to The Ledger Independent to know what is going on in the world. I do not like watching TV anymore, I don’t like high definition or language or indecent exposure. Also, thanks to Tom Purcell’s comments, I now know why I randomly received from the US Census Bureau a survey required by law to fill out. It seemed prying on the the elderly’s worth with such personal, private questions.
