The University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service, in partnership with Morehead State University, will host an Apple Orchard Field Day at Browning Orchard on Saturday, Sept..15, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The day will begin promptly at 10am with University of Kentucky Specialists discussing with the group on pest and disease identification and management. Techniques such as apple bagging will be demonstrated for those in attendance.
Lunch will be provided to those in attendance to separate the morning and afternoon sessions. During lunch, Donna Fryman, Fleming County Family and Consumer Sciences agent, will demo a healthy apple dessert and provide samples to participants.
The afternoon will include information on choosing and taste testing apple varieties as well as a session on Marketing for the commercial growers, and proper tree planting techniques for homeowners.
