MOUNT OLIVET — The Citizen’s Deposit Bank robbery in Robertson County remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.

On Feb. 25, around 2:58 p.m., on Monday, KSP dispatch received a 911 call from Electronic Services, an alarm company serving the Citizen’s Deposit Bank, about a panic alarm activated at the bank in Mount Olivet.

According to Loudermilk, when law enforcement arrived, officers determined that a forcible robbery had occurred at the bank when two men demanded money from a customer and tellers.

On Monday, KSP Trooper Charlie Loudermilk said no suspects have been named in the case, but did confirm money taken from the bank included funds raised during the 38th District Boys Basketball Tournament at Robertson County School.

“The money stolen from the patron inside the bank came from the recent district tournament,” Loudermilk said.

Robertson County Schools Superintendent Sanford Holbrook confirmed the patron inside the bank who was shoved was a school employee, but he could not give details regarding the robbery.

“I have met with the Citizen’s Deposit president and he has said the incident will not cost the district,” Holbrook said. “He also checked in on our employee. He was very kind and we appreciate him, and the bank, being so supportive of our district.”

The two men also were able to get money from the tellers, but the exact amount is not known.

“I know they were able to get money from the tellers, and a patron inside the building, but that exact amount is unknown at this time,” Loudermilk said. “We’ve not had any reported injuries. One person was shoved but, from what I know, he never fell to the floor or was hurt.”

Once the men received the money, they left the bank, according to Loudermilk.

“The two left the bank and traveled south on Main Street,” he said.

The robbery remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Detective Charles Haselwood.

KSP Post 6 in Dry Ridge is leading the investigation.

Anyone with information on the robbery and the suspects are asked to call the KSP at 859-428-1212.
