The Women’s Crisis Center recently presented its 2018 Beacon of Hope Award to the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office 19th Judicial Circuit.
“Their commitment to pursuing justice is made stronger by their involvement with SAIC, the sexual assault interagency committee,” an official with WCC said. “The Commonwealth Attorneys realize that sharing the voice and experience of victim-survivors of sexual assault and rape is essential to the healing process. Their support of WCC spreads hope throughout the community.”
The Buffalo Trace Women’s Crisis Center will present the Beacon of Hope Award during the eighth annual Dining to Make a Difference Denim and Diamonds fundraiser, Friday, Sept. 28, 2018 where all proceeds will benefit the Women’s Crisis Center.
The Denim and Diamonds event is a laid-back enjoyable evening where guests can wear their favorite pair of jeans and jazz them up with their favorite pieces of jewelry. The event will be held at the Maysville Event Center. Social hour with open bar begins at 6 p.m., and dinner will be served at 7. A guest speaker will be discussing Green Dot our bystander violence prevention philosophy. A live auction and lively games will follow. A $1,000 raffle prize will be awarded at the end of the evening, and winners do not have to be present.
The auction items are very exciting this year. Items range from local favorite restaurants gift certificates to breakout games, airline tickets, signed sports memorabilia, casino stays, a Cancun vacation, and a once-in-a-lifetime New Zealand Red Stage three-day hunting trip. There are many more amazing items to bid on. Don’t miss out on your next adventure by not attending Denim and Diamonds.
