FLEMINGSBURG – If you were expecting a package on Wednesday from Amazon and didn’t receive it, there may be a reason for that.

Wednesday morning around 6:45, an Enterprise box truck carrying packages ran off the road and into a creek, officials said. Brandon Harris of Cincinnati, fell asleep behind the wheel while he was driving on Mount Carmel Road, according to Fleming County Sheriff Gary Kinder.

“I got the call at around 6:50 this morning. He did not suffer any injuries but he is worried about losing his job. He said he hadn’t been driving for the company for very long. He may have to pay for the damages” said Kinder.

The passenger’s side of the box of the truck and the top of it were completely torn off when the truck ran off the road, traveled 300 feet , ending its journey into the creek.

Kinder went on to say “A lot of damages… two or three skids worth of Amazon Prime packages strung out all along the bank and even in the creek. I’m going to guess there were easily a hundred packages or more that flew out and ended up damaged.”

There were also reports late Wednesday of an incident involving a log truck turning over on Muses Mill Road around 1:30. More information will be included as it becomes available.
