Maysville residents will be treated to a traditional all-American Fourth of July celebration, complete with parade and fireworks.

Activities are set to get underway early on July 4, with a 5-K run/2-mile walk at 8 a.m. Limestone Landing will be the starting point with check-in beginning at 6:30 a.m.

At 11 a.m., a baby show will take place on the Second Street Mall in downtown Maysville, next to US Bank. Registration starts at 10 a.m. For more information contact Patti Clark at the YMCA, 564-6772.

If the kids want to get a “jump” on the celebration, inflatables will be set up at Rotary Park from 5-7 p.m., where food including ice cream will be offered up. Deejay on the River will entertain from Limestone Landing.

Bike owners will want to get a start early in the day decorating their ride with a bicycle decorating contest on tap for 6:30 p.m., at Rotary Park.

Music lovers will find the Community Band entertaining from 6-7 p.m., at the Second Street Mall.

Everyone loves a parade and Maysville’s tribute to our nation’s birth will wind through the downtown area with lineup at 7 p.m., on East Second Street under the train trestle. Go time is 7:30.

The parade will be led by grand marshal Donald Wood, a World War II veteran and POW survivor.

Following the parade, the Isle of Eight band will play at Limestone Park from 8:30-10 p.m.

The grand finale of the evening will be the firework display from Limestone Landing at 10 p.m.
