CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The public comment period for a proposed road project in Brown County is coming to an end this week.
According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, the proposed project is to improve a section of Ohio 763 by replacing and installing two drilled-shaft retaining walls along Slickaway Run between Stringtown and Lawwill roads.
Construction will require approximately 0.42 acres of permanent right of way and 0.039 acres of temporary right of way, according to ODOT. No homes or businesses will be removed as a result, ODOT said.
A contract for the project is scheduled to be awarded in the summer of 2019, and although a full closure of the route is not anticipated, short-term periods of closure may be needed during some phases of the project.
According to ODOT, the project is 100 percent state funded. No detour is anticipated to be required.
Additional information on the project can be found online at www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D09/Pages/Public-Involvement-Process.aspx.
Written comments will be accepted by June 6 to:
