CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – A few road projects are scheduled to begin soon in Adams and Brown counties.

Two projects are set to begin in Adams County on Wednesday, May 30.

One, a slip repair project on Ohio 770, will see the route closed approximately two miles east of Ohio 247 at Seaman while contractors install temporary pavement. According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, the closure will only be in effect on May 30 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

While the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via Ohio 247, Ohio 785 and Ohio 73. Once the intermediate pavement has been installed, the road will be reopened to one lane and traffic will be maintained with signals during construction, according to ODOT.

Also on Wednesday, Ohio 247 in Adams will be closed between Third Street and U.S. 52 in Wrightsville for a single-day culvert replacement project.

According to ODOT, the closure will be in effect from around 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thile the route is closed, motorists will be detoured through the village of Wrightsville.

The two projects join two ongoing projects in Adams County.

According to ODOT, the project site south of Pumpkin Ridge Road’s junction with Sherwood Road is reopened to traffic, but will still be active as crews continue working. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers when crews are at work. All work associated with the project is scheduled to be completed by early fall.

An emergency repair slip is also being worked on Ohio 770 near Tranquility Pike around two miles east of Ohio 246 at Seaman.

According to ODOT, the route is reduced to one lane and traffic is being maintained by temporary signals.

All work on the project is anticipated to be complete in mid-summer.

In Brown County, a resurfacing project is scheduled to begin the week of June 25 on Ohio 125 and Ohio 774.

According to ODOT, crews will be paving Ohio 125 from U.S. 68 to the Adams County line, as well as Ohio 774 between Ohio 125 and U.S. 68.

Throughout construction on both routes, traffic will be maintained in one lane by flaggers. The project is scheduled to be complete in late summer.

That project joins three ongoing projects in Brown County.

Ohio 763 remains closed one mile north of Ohio 41 for a bridge replacement and realignment project. The site is situated between Stringtown and Lawwill roads. According to ODOT, the closure will be in effect through early July.

While the road is closed, motorists will be detoured via Ohio 41, Ohio 136 and Ohio 125. Construction is anticipated by ODOT to be completed in mid-summer.

A resurfacing project on Ohio 125 and U.S. 68 is ongoing. Crews are paving Ohio 125 through the village of Georgetown, between Hillcrest Drive and U.S. 68 as well as on U.S. 68 between its junction with Ohio 125 and U.S. 62, just south of Georgetown.

Throughout construction, traffic is being maintained in one lane by flaggers when crews are at work, and the project is scheduled to be complete in mid-fall.

A preservation project on Ohio 125 has resumed and crews will be completing paving as well as finishing work on between Gillette Station and Old Infirmary roads. Traffic will be maintained in one, 12-foot lane with the use of flaggers as needed for the duration of the project.
