Mason County residents who live on or travel roads slated for resurfacing should expect projects to begin next week, according to information from County Judge-Executive Joe Pfeffer.
Barrett Pike, Slack Pike, Pole Cat Pike, Owens Pike, and Three Lick are included on the list of roads scheduled for work to begin April 23, Pfeffer said. Total for the projects is $387,411. Funding was allocated through the County Road Aid, he said. Bids were based on those accepted by the Buffalo Trace Road Commission, he said.
Pfeffer said the county targeted the roads early to avoid the rush as warm weather approaches. Weather permitting, all roads should be completed within two weeks, he said.
Residents are being advised to seek alternative routes, Pfeffer said, although most of the roads intersect with another to provide an outlet for motorists. However, since Three Lick is a dead-end road, signs will be posted so residents will know in advance.
