Man sentenced to life in prison in Brown

GEORGETOWN, Ohio – A man found guilty of rape was sentenced to life in prison in Brown County.

Eugene M. Jennings was sentenced to life in prison with parole after pleading guilty to first-degree felony rape.

Jennings was indicted on the charge on Sept. 21, 2017, as well as three more counts of first-degree felony rape, four counts of third-degree gross sexual imposition, one count second-degree felony assault and one count of second-degree felony endangering children. Counts 2-12 were dismissed in court.

According to court documents, Jennings will be eligible for parole after 25 years in prison. He will also have to register as a tier three sex offender, which is the most severe sex offender registration in Ohio.

Tier three sex offenders are required to register their address every 90 days and are listed on the sex offender registry.

Others sentenced included:

— Scott E. Shouse was sentenced to four years in the Ohio Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to one count of first-degree felony burglary.

Shouse was indicted on the charge on Jan. 25, as well as two counts of first-degree felony aggravated burglary. Those counts were later dismissed in court.

— David Lee Boothby was sentenced to two years of community control sanctions after pleading guilty to one count of fifth-degree felony violating a protection order.

According to court documents, Boothby was indicted on the charge on March 8. He will be under general supervision and control of the Adult Probation Department.

— Amanda Wisbey was sentenced to two years of community control sanctions after pleading guilty to one count of fifth-degree felony theft.

Wisbey was indicted on the charge on May 4, 2017, as well as one count of fifth-degree felony theft from a person of a protected class and fifth-degree felony misuse of credit cards.

According to her sentence, Wisbey will be subject to intensive supervision under the control of the Adult Probation Department. She will be required to pay restitution and must complete the STAR Program plus any aftercare.
