Mason County triple jumper Marissa Scilley and distance runner Alyssa Bisotti set school records at Saturday’s indoor track and field meet at the Carmuese-Mason County Schools Indoor Athletic facility.

Scilley jumped her way to a distance of 33-4.5 in the meet, good for second place. Bisotti ran a 5:48 in the 1,600-meter run.

The shorthanded Lady Royals finished sixth in the meet with 34 points. St. Henry won the meet with 75 points, followed by Rockcastle County in second with 61.5 points and Central in third with 60 points.

Other Lady Royals standouts in the meet were Paige Decker with a third place finish in the 800 and Hayden Faris and Elizabeth Lavinder both placing fifth in their respective races, Faris in the 800 and Lavinder in the 3,000.

Eastern’s Madison Hopkins accounted for 16 points as she placed first in the long jump and third in the triple jump.

Mason County’s boys team totaled 16.5 points and finished in 12th place. St. Henry also won the boys meet with 69.5 points followed by Campbell County in second with 59 points and Central in third with 48 points.

Dalton Kindt won the shot put for the third time this season with a throw of 49-10. Seth Chambers placed fifth in the event. Allen Powell tied for second in the high jump.

Fleming County’s Robert Applegate placed fifth in the 1,600 to get some points on the board for the Panthers, who placed 18th with six points.

Saturday marked the end of the indoor regular season, with the state meet taking place on March 3.
