Ohio high school baseball teams from the coverage area found their paths in the playoffs on Sunday starting out with the district draws.

The Southeast and Southwest Division III and IV held their respective draws to determine matchups for sectional play leading into district, then region and state play.

Peebles (1-16) will be the first team to put their season on the line when they face Western (2-12) on Saturday at 11 a.m. Western is the No. 8 seed and will be the host to the No. 9 seeded Indians in the Southeast Division IV sectional bracket. The Indians lone win on the season was 14-3 over Ripley on March 27. They were slated to play Western on April 30, but that game was canceled. The winner gets the No. 1 seed Clay (18-2) on May 14. Clay is currently ranked No. 8 in the state in the latest OHSAA Division IV poll.

Georgetown (2-17) gets its postseason play started on May 13 when they play at Mariemont (6-11). The G-Men are the No. 15 seed while Mariemont is the No. 12 in the Southwest Division III sectional bracket. The G-Men’s two wins on the year came early in the season when they defeated Ripley in a doubleheader on March 30. They’ve lost 13 games in a rown since. The winner gets Madiera (11-8) on May 15.

Manchester (10-9) will hope to continue its turnaround season when they open up Southeast Division IV sectional play up with Green (17-2) on May 14. The Greyhounds are the No. 6 seed and will have their work cut out against the No. 3 seeded Bobcats, who are currently ranked No. 11 in the state in the latest Division IV poll. The Greyhounds are hoping for the same result when the game didn’t count, knocking off Green 6-5 in an exhibition game on March 18.

Ripley (0-18) has yet to find the win column and will hope to do so when they face Seven Hills (14-5) on May 15 in Southwest Division IV sectional play. The Blue Jays enter as the No. 11 seed while Seven Hills is the No. 2. The winner of this one will move on to the sectional final on May 20 at Indian Hill High School.

West Union (11-7) starts its postseason run in a matchup with Valley (9-12) on May 15 at home. The Dragons are the No. 7 seed while Valley is the No. 10 seed. The winner gets No. 2 seed Westfall (15-3) on May 18 in the Southeast Division III Sectional Finals.

Eastern (10-8) gets Piketon (8-12) to open up their Southeast Division III Sectional play in the 8-9 game, Piketon being the No. 8 seed and the Warriors the No. 9. Whoever wins that one will then have their work cut out as they face the No. 1 seed Minford (20-1) on May 18.

All games noted come with a 5 p.m. start time, except Peebles matchup on Saturday, which begins at 11 a.m.
