Justin Becker has caught the attention of coaches and basketball fans around the state this summer.
The rising freshman at Robertson County has made his way into several rankings and watch lists, and on Thursday was named to the Class of 2022 Kentucky All-Star team for the 21st Battle of the Bridges Basketball Classic game against Indiana’s All-Stars at Mid-America Sports Center in Louisville on Aug. 4.
Becker, the tallest player on his team’s roster at 6-foot-5, appeared in all 30 games for the Black Devils as an eighth grader and averaged 9.6 points and 4.2 rebounds while shooting over 50 percent from the field and nearly 30 percent from beyond the arc. Robertson County went 20-10 during the 2017-18 season and won their first-ever 10th Region All “A” Classic title.
Also on the team from the 10th Region are George Rogers Clark’s Hagan Harrison and Jerone Morton. The rest of the roster includes Trigg County’s Kendric Adams, Louisville Male’s Selah Brown, Ballard’s Jack Edelen, Eastern’s James Jewell, Fern Creek’s Andru Markham, Barren County’s Aden Nyekan, Boyle County’s Aden Slone and Ballard’s Derrick Tilford II.
The team will be coached by Stephon Harris and assisted by Danny Edelen.
