Mark Blakefield has been finding some success on the Tour.

The St. Patrick and University of Kentucky graduate finished in a tie for fourth with Hank Lebioda at the LECOM Health Challenge at the Peek’n Peak Resort in Findley Lake, New York, on Sunday, finishing with a 17-under 271 in the four-day event.

It marks Blakefield’s best finish on the Tour this season. He made six cuts prior to the tournament, with the last coming on June 24 at the Wichita Open Supporting Wichita’s Youth. He finished tied for 12th at the event. It’s his fourth top-25 finish of the summer. He missed the cut last week at the Lincoln Land Championship presented by LRS.

Blakefield was 2-under through the front nine after birdies on the second and ninth hole. He added three straight birdies on 11, 12 and 13, with another on 18 to finish out the round with a 6-under 66.

Nelson Ledesma was the tournament champion, finishing with a 22-under 266, while Sebastian Munoz and Kyle Jones finished tied for second at 20-under.

Blakefield, the 1999 Kentucky Mr. Golf award winner, spent last season playing on the Mackenzie Tour – PGA Tour Canada. He won the National Capital Open to Support Our Troops at Hylands Golf Club in Ottawa, Ontario.

The Tour makes its next stop this week at Oakridge Country Club in Farmington, Utah, for the Utah Championship presented by Zions Bank.
