LACE UP AGAINST DRUGS 5K RUN/WALK

The Brown County Youth Drug Prevention Coalition/RULH BPA will host the second annual Lace Up Against Drugs 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, May 5, beginning at Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington High School. Registrations begins at 7 a.m. and the race is scheduled to begin at 8:15 a.m. The cost of entry is $15 for kids ages 5-17, $25 for adults before April 20 and $30 for adults from April 21 to race day. FREE FUNDAMENTAL BASKETBALL SKILLS CLINIC

Mason County graduate Ryan Hamm will be hosting a free fundamental basketball skills clinic on Saturday, May 12, from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the Maysville Tom Browning Boys and Girls Club. The event is open to boys and girls grades 1-6. Campers must bring their own basketball. Hamm is currently an associate head coach at Lindenwood University and last the NABC named him an Under Armour 30-under-30 honoree, which recognizes up and coming young coaches across the country. KORY FRANKLIN’S ‘REDNECK RUN’ MEMORIAL 5K RUN/WALK

Kory Franklin’s ‘Redneck Run’ Memorial 5K Run/Walk will take place Saturday, May 12, at the Manchester Riverfront. The event, which will begin at 8:30 a.m., will feature a 5K run and a 2.2 mile walk. Race day registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at Front and Pike Streets. The event is $15 with advanced entry, which includes a T-shirt. Awards will be given to the top overall male and female runners, along with the top two in each category. All proceeds got to the Kory Franklin Scholarship Fund in remembrance of the MHS runner for an annual scholarship given to a qualifying MHS graduate. LADY ROYALS GOLF SCRAMBLE

The Mason County girls basketball team will be hosting a golf scramble at Kenton Station Golf Course on May 18, starting at 6 p.m. It’s a nine-hole scramble, bring your own six-person team. ST. PATRICK SAINTS BASKETBALL CAMP

St. Patrick will be hosting their annual basketball camp May 29-June 1. The camp is open to 1st-8th grade boys and girls and all schools are welcomed to attend. The times of the camp are 8-10 a.m. for 1st-4th grade and 10 a.m.-12 p.m. for 5th-8th grade. The Saints Annual Basketball Camp purpose is to assist young athletes in understanding basketball fundamentals, the importance of teamwork and team play, and to have fun enjoying a sport that they want to learn more on how to play. Breakfast or lunch will be provided to each group and a free t-shirt to every camper. Participation Fee is $50, with each additional child in household $25.
