JOSH CRUMP, FLEMING COUNTY
Josh Crump helped the Fleming County baseball team move to 6-4 by picking up two wins last week. The Panthers played 61st District foe Menifee County on Tuesday and came away with an 11-0, five inning victory. Crump went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored. Fleming County dropped the second game of the week to Nicholas County, with Crump picking up the Panthers only hit. He also pitched 4.1 innings and struck out five batters. Fleming County bounced back two nights later with a 15-4 win over Morgan County. Crump went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs scored in the contest. One of his hits was a double to center.
KAITLYN WILLS, BRACKEN COUNTY
After four losses to start the year, the Bracken County softball team found a rhythm behind senior Kaitlyn Wills. The Lady Bears won their first game on April 13 and followed it with three more last week, starting with a win over Lloyd Memorial that ended on a walkoff single to center from Wills. She went 4-for-5 in the game with a double, two RBIs and a run scored. Wills followed it with three singles, two RBIs and a run scored in a win over Calvary Christian the next day. The Lady Bears took to the diamond for the third straight day on Friday and came away with another victory, this time against Ludlow, 13-0. Wills whacked a three-run home run in the game and finished with two hits, six RBIs and three runs scored.
