


JARED FENTON, WEST UNION BASEBALL
Jared Fenton posted a big-time week to start a West Union winning streak. Fenton started the week on the mound against Manchester, throwing seven innings and allowing three hits in the 6-1 victory. Even more impressive was the fact that of the 21 outs the team recorded, 17 were strikeouts recorded by the Dragons’ pitcher. He helped himself out at the plate as well, collecting a hit and two RBIs while also walking twice. West Union followed it with a five inning, 26-0 shellacking of Ripley. Fenton went 3-for-4 and had three RBIs in the victory.
JOSIE CAMPBELL, MANCHESTER SOFTBALL
Josie Campbell started off the week by leading Manchester’s offense with a double, three RBIs and a run scored in a 17-2 blowout victory against West Union to move to 3-0 on the season. The Lady Hounds added another victory on Thursday, knocking off North Adams, 13-3. Campbell went 2-for-3 with another double. She drove in and scored a run in the contest. Her biggest day at the plate came on Friday in a 17-6 win over Whiteoak. Campbell had four hits – including another double – drove in four runs and scored three times.
