GERMANTOWN — Nettie Jean Phillips Kiskaden, of Maysville, was released from her earthly pain and carried to heaven on July 15 just two days after her 89th birthday.

She was the only child of Joseph McKinley Phillips and Martha Mae Striblin Phillips, born July 13, 1930, on Pleasant Ridge in Mason County.

Throughout her life she served as pianist for many different pastors in several churches. She enjoyed working in the church and serving God. She also enjoyed sewing and quilting and making each quilt by hand.

She leaves behind five children, Larry (Brenda) Kiskaden, Linda (Chuck) Kielman of Maysville, Dale (Leah) Kiskaden of Alexandria, Melissa Usleaman (Keith Grimes) of Brooksville and Joseph Kiskaden of Augusta.

She also leaves 15 grandchildren, Dustin (Michele) Kiskaden, Amber Brophy, Tony (Kayla) Hutchison, Brandon (Elizabeth) Hutchison, Jo Ellen (Shanon) Young, Susan (Cliff) Jennings, Gary (Stacy) Kiskaden, Kristin (Angel) Cord, Randy Kiskaden (Miranda Claypool), Gina (Jerimey) Silvey, Jonathan (Merinda) Usleaman, Sammy (Jimmy) Lacy, Alicia Gilbert (Ryne Clark), Joshua Usleaman, Jacob Usleaman, 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene Kiskaden, whom she married January 27, 1955; and a beloved son-in-law Ray Usleaman Jr.

Services will be 3 p.m. on Saturday at Palmer Funeral Home in Germantown.

Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dustin Kiskaden, Tony Hutchison, Brandon Hutchison, Gary Kiskaden, Randy Kiskaden, Jonathan Usleaman, Joshua Usleaman and Jacob Usleaman.

Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given Alzheimer’s Association.
