MAYSVILLE — Clarence Hopkins “Buddy” Qualls, 80, of Maysville, passed away Monday June 17, 2019, at his residence after a long illness.

He was born Jan. 4, 1939, in Stonega, Va. to the late Clarence Edward and Louise Hopkins Qualls.

Clarence was a loyal member of the Washington Lions Club where he served as president and secretary, he was a past member of the Board of Directors for the DP and L Credit Union, and he served his country honorably in the US Army.

Survivors include his son, David Qualls of Maysville; a brother, Jerry Qualls of Maysville; a daughter-in-law, Julia Qualls; granddaughters, Brittany (Jamez) Habermehl, Tiffany (David Gilliland) Qualls, Sheina (Brad) Kegley and Sarah (Phillip) Knell; nephews, Jon Qualls and Jerry (Glenda) Qualls; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Sue Maxfield Qualls; and a son, Shannon Qualls.

Services for Clarence Qualls will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday June 20, 2019, at Maysville First Christian Church with Aaron Kirk and James Rawlings officiating. Military honors provided by Simon Kenton VFW Post 2734 will immediately follow the service.

Burial will be held at a later date in Green Acres Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the church.
