FT. MYERS, Fla. — Stephen “Steve” C. Nester, 74, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019, in Fort Myers.

Steve was born Dec. 30, 1944, in Macomb, Ill., to the late Richard C. and Madalin J. Nester.

He married Ann “Christie” C. Nester on March 5, 1988, in Maysville.

He graduated high school from Macomb Western Academy in 1962 and attended the University of Illinois, where he played on the golf team and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Steve was a real estate broker and standardbred horse owner for over 40 years.

Surviving is his loving wife, Christie Nester; his daughter, Stephanie Nester (Scott Hill) of Clarksville, Tenn.; Lauri (Andy) Muse of Burlington; Bridget (Geoff) Perry of Fairfield, Conn.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; aunt, Joan “Jody” Zeller; and other extended relatives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Keith E. Nester.

Steve will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a devoted and loving father and “Poppy” who loved to crack jokes. He was an avid golfer his entire life, had a passion for horses, and loved a good card game. He will be greatly missed.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Maysville.

Immediately following the services, a celebration in honor of his life will be held at the Knights of Columbus, 210 E 3rd Street, Maysville, Ky. 41056.
