MAYSVILLE — Erie Eileen Smith, 94, went to her heavenly home Friday June 7, 2019, at Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility. She was the widow of Walter Smith.

Ms. Smith was born Feb. 11, 1925, in Carter County to the late Tom and Lulu Nolen Cooley. She was a farm wife and homemaker, worked several years for January and Wood and was a member of Maysville Church of Christ and Christian Union.

Survivors include her daughters, Lucy (Oval) Teegarden of Maysville and Carol Lang of Flemingsburg; sons, Donnie (Florence) Smith of Manchester and Ricky (Angie) Smith of Maysville; sisters Glenda Wilson and Fairleen Steele; five grandchildren, Michael Teegarden, Walter (Tootie) Teegarden, Heather Hackney, Michelle Hunt, Terry Roberson; 10 great grandchildren, Kyle Teegarden, Makenzy Teegarden, Luke Teegarden, Allie Teegarden, Sierra Hackney, Canaan Hackney, Julia Roberson, Kara Roberson, Cassandra Hilterbrand, and Zachary Hunt. She also leaves her special friends, Marilyn Rhodes and Edna Williams.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Applegate, Norma Hardymon, and Betty Butler; and brothers, Theodore, Raymond, Roscoe, and Ivan Cooley.

Services for Erie Smith will be held at 1 p.m., Monday June 10, 2019, at Brell and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Conley officiating.

Burial will follow in Charleston Bottoms Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
